Zish Naeem

Zish is a senior orthoptist and is currently the lead orthoptist for the London Retinoblastoma service at The Royal London hospital (Barts NHS Health Trust). He qualified in 2008, having obtained a Bachelor of Medical Science (with Honours) in Orthoptics at The University of Sheffield. Since then he has worked at Moorfields Eye hospital both in London and in Dubai, where he has gained proficiency in assessing an array of children’s eye conditions; in particular those with visual impairment and complex eye movement disorders.

Currently, Zish is involved in research within retinoblastoma where he has co-authored two journal papers with reference to vision and strabismus. He has previously led the orthoptic service for stroke patients and published a journal paper on the prevalence of visual problems in this group of patients. Zish has also led clinical teaching of undergraduate Orthoptists and continues to provide training to orthoptic and medical students.

Zish continually strives to utilise his passion for clinical Othoptics in ensuring evidence-based practice and the provision of high standards of care.
